Baingan refers to brinjal and bharta refers to the condition when the brinjal is roasted over flame and then the roasted brinjal is bought in use to make an awesome chapatti time veggie with it. The recipe is rather mouth watering and can be easily made at home following the recipe that we are mentioning here. Baingan Ka Bharta
Baingan Ka Bharta
2 onions (chopped and diced)
3 tomatoes (chopped and diced)
1 cup yogurt (optional)
1 tsp turmeric and garam masala powder to color
Salt and pepper to taste
60 gram cooking oil
2 cloves of garlic (grated)
1 inch slice of ginger (grated)
1 large brinjal
Garnishing: – With coriander leave
Method to Make Baingan Ka Bharta:-
1. First of all, put the brinjal on fire roast over the gas stove. It should not be burned bur roasted till it turns black and brown. Take it aside and remove the skin when it gets cooled.
2. Now pout a frying pan on the stove and apply some heat to it. Add the onion, tomatoes, the spices, turmeric powder, garlic and ginger to it and keep frying till color change occur.
3. Now mash the roasted brinjal and add it to this frying pan.
4. Stir the mixture and add some yoghurt to it. Keep on stirring and fry the mixture while stirring with the spoon. Keep the pan covered with a lid for a while and then serve the bharta hot after garnishing.
In some cases we do not use yoghurt but simply use some water instead of it while making the bharta.
